Business Issues

Objective
To monitor, analyze and prioritize public policy issues, which impact Chamber membership and the Flagler County business community

Membership Criteria
Open to any FCCCA member in good standing

Committee Goals
1. Monitor local government actions and policies
2. Maintain communications with local and regional officials
3. Develop positions on the city, county and state issues impacting Flagler County
4. Coordinate political candidate education program
5. Coordinate annual program to educate the membership on upcoming elections and candidates

Meeting Frequency/Times
Monthly; second Friday of each month at 8AM

Economic Development

Objective
Interacts with and provides input to local government partners and Enterprise Flagler regarding economic development issues

Membership Criteria
Open to any FCCCA member in good standing

Committee Goals
Supports and assists in implementing key projects that involve business attraction, retention and expansion

Meeting Frequency/Times
Monthly, first Friday of each month at 8:00 a.m.

Membership

Objective
Strategically review chamber benefits and offerings as a means to recruit and retain chamber members

Membership Criteria
Open to any FCCCA member in good standing

Committee Goals
1. Review membership rates annually and make recommendations accordingly
2. Create action plans for staff to implement
3. Develop recruitment plans for specific industry
4. Establish a list of potential members
5. Support new members by inviting them to Chamber functions

Meeting Frequency/Times
Every other Month – 3rd Friday at 9:00 a.m.

Professional Development

Objective
Planning and executing affordable, condensed, and focused seminars, workshops, and roundtable discussions for the Chamber members and their staff on topics of interest to business, technology, and professional skills.

Membership Criteria
Open to any FCCCA member in good standing – limited to six members

Committee Goals
1. Survey membership for topics
2. Develop curriculum and trainers/speakers for seminar series
3. Work with staff to promote series to members
4. Survey attendees for areas of improvement and evaluate the need for future programs

Chamber Foundation

Objective
Develop and implement the Chamber Foundation budget and oversee charitable giving and donations

Membership Criteria
Open to any FCCCA member in good standing

Committee Goals
1. Develop budget
2. Prepare and implement program of work and giving guidelines
3. Oversee grant applications and distribution of funds

Meeting Frequency/Times
Semi-Monthly first quarter; quarterly thereafter (9 meetings total)

Marketing

Objective
Develop a marketing plan that enhances the communications and strategies of the FCCCA. Work to strengthen awareness of chamber activities and enhance membership growth and retention

Membership Criteria
Open to any FCCCA member in good standing

Committee Goals
1. Create comprehensive marketing plan for the chamber
2. Assess effectiveness of communication and marketing materials including brochures, media kits, event flyer templates, social media and purchased advertising. Make recommendations as appropriate.
3. Identify opportunities to increase traffic to and enhance website

Meeting Frequency/Times
Semi-Monthly first quarter; every other month thereafter (10 meetings annually)

Special Events

Objective
The committee works under the guidance of the Executive Vice President to schedule and budget events for the year

Membership Criteria
Open to any FCCCA member in good standing

Committee Goals
1. Conduct event review and make suggestions for areas of improvement
2. Form sub-committees to work on individual events

Leadership

Objective
Develop a pool of committed well-informed leaders who will actively participate in the growth of the community by accepting leadership roles in civic, charitable or governmental organizations through structured programs held annually.

Open to any Leadership Flagler Alumnus

Committee Goals
1. Develop curriculum and retain key speakers
2. Encourage community participation
3. Plan and implement alumni gatherings

Ethics

Objectives
Establish a set of ethical standards to guide the FCCCA and its members, and to create a competitive advantage for members in the market place based on the expectation of higher ethical standards of business conduct (versus the caveat emptor standard that too often prevails).

Open to any FCCCA member in good standing

Committee Goals
1. Develop and promulgate a statement of Member Values
2. Create and endorse a values-based Customer Appreciation Program (CAP) to encourage members to apply ethical standards to how they conduct business and thus provide those members with a "competitive edge" in their respective markets.

Monthly initially, meeting date/time TBD. As needed after promulgation of the CAP
